Executive Director South Bay Prep is proud to announce an Interim Executive Director, Mr. Dan Ordaz. Mr. Ordaz has 30+ years of experience in Santa Clara county and many years of experience with charter schools in the county. He served as Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and also as Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services for the East Side Union High School District. Mr. Ordaz has also served as director, high school principal, counselor and teacher. Dan believes deeply in the vision of South Bay Prep and is committed to serving SBP during our ED search. Coleen Wagner Coleen Wagner has been in the information technology field for the past 20+ years, designing, managing, and consulting on Human Resources software implementations and development. While a Partner at a large consulting firm she worked with many Fortune 500 companies as a business analyst and project manager. Ms. Wagner is currently Board President of Casa di Mir Montessori School in Campbell and a member of the editorial advisory board of Tomorrow's Child, a monthly magazine published by the Montessori Foundation and the International Montessori Council. Ms. Wagner also co-moderates a world-wide Montessori discussion list of 1600+ public and private educators and administrators, homeschoolers, and parents. She is very involved in the world-wide Montessori community. She believes adolescents have very specific needs on their journey to adulthood: a need for independence; to grow physically, ethically, academically and socially through their connections with the community; opportunities to express their deep introspection and opportunities to serve others. Chris Duckering Felicia Gershberg Felicia Gershberg has a Bachelor of Science degree in Cognitive Science and Computer Science from Brown University, where she took a number of education courses, including courses with Ted Sizer, the founder of the Coalition of Essential Schools. She has a Master of Arts in Teaching from Boston University and a lifetime teaching credential in Massachusetts, where she taught high school math. She has a Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley, with a dissertation entitled, “The Role of the Frontal Lobes in Learning and Memory.” To fund her graduate education and her postdoctoral research fellowship at Boston University, Felicia applied for and was awarded highly competitive grants from the National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health. For the past nine years, Felicia has dedicated herself to raising and educating her children. In addition to serving as a teacher’s aide in their preschool and elementary school classrooms, chaperoning innumerable field trips, and working on a variety of committees, Felicia has served as treasurer of her local Las Madres Group, team administrator for several Little League teams, and President of the Board of Sunnyvale Parent Preschool. She is currently Co-Chair of the Operations Committee of PACT, an alternative, parent-participation school in the Mountain View Whisman Elementary School District. Vicky Gray-Clark Throughout her career, she has contributed her expertise to various social justice and environmental causes. She is excited about serving on the Board of South Bay Prep and feels strongly that a small school, smaller classes, and more personalized learning offers an ideal college preparatory environment in which middle and high school students can thrive. |
