Our Values

Focus on learning

·        A challenging college preparatory curriculum in the humanities, sciences, and arts for all students.

·        High expectations, with support to meet those expectations.

·        Students develop critical thinking, independent thought, and communication skills in classes that are active, engaging, relevant, and trusting.

·        A school culture that actively inspires and supports inquiry, the pursuit of excellence, curiosity and a sense of wonder, creativity and individuality.

·        A school environment that attracts, supports, and nourishes outstanding teachers.

Focus on students

·        Small overall school size and small classes foster relationships and ensure that every student is known well.

·        Students have personalized control over their own learning and freedom to pursue their passions.

·        We educate the whole person, helping students develop emotionally, socially, morally and intellectually.

·        We support and guide students through faculty and peer mentoring relationships.

Focus on community

·        A community where staff and students cultivate and demonstrate integrity, independence, courage, compassion, respect, and responsibility.

·        A learning environment that is caring, warm, friendly, and respectful of difference.

·        Strong communication within a cohesive and involved community of parents, students, and faculty.  Parent participation required of all families.

·        Engagement with the world beyond the school walls, fostering an awareness of our roles as active citizens within both our local and global communities.
